About
Most of what we do
is decide what not to.
Four things we left out.
a music box
Every mobile we looked at played the same eight melodies on a loop. A nursery is already full of sound — a radiator, a street, someone breathing in the next room. We would rather a baby heard that.
plastic, and glue
Wool, untreated beechwood, cotton cord. That is the entire list. Nothing is coated, nothing is bonded, and every piece is held together by the fibres themselves.
a machine
Nothing here is embroidered by machine or cut by die. A needle and a pair of hands — slower, and it shows. No two bears come out with quite the same face.
a stock room
Nothing sits in a box waiting. When an order comes in, someone starts felting — which is why it takes five to seven days, and why only a few leave here each week.

What is left is hanging in the next room. Go and look.
